Weeds Season 5 Finale

Showtime

It ends with a hammer to the back of the skull. Ding-dong the Mexicunt is dead.  Hurrah! But let’s recap: Shane Botwin is 14 years old.  So far he has watched his father die in front of him, masturbated over naked photos of his mother, had a threesome with suicide girls, contracted a sexually transmitted disease, been shot in a gangland hit intended for his mother and now he’s a murderer.  Nancy can’t help but feel that she’s failed as a parent.  You’re a lousy authority figure, Nance, but you make one hell of an incest wank.

Pilar, the Mexicunt in question, lies face down in a swimming pool with her skull caved in.  Political adviser to Esteban, she was a kind of Malcolm Tucker-Salma Hayek hybrid.  She was the shit who ordered the hit on Nancy that wounded Shane.  Just as she was having a girly chat with Nancy at a political fundraiser where she threatened to off both Shane and Silas, Shane runs in from left-field and twats her with magnificent force on the occipital lobe with a croquet mallet, hopefully solving the Mexicunt problem once and for all.  Now Esteban can no longer be blackmailed and there will be two fewer teenage corpses to count.  Two more votes for Esteban, right?

“Shane Botwin is 14 years old. So far he has watched his father die in front of him, masturbated over naked photos of his mother and had a threesome.”

“Andy has fallen in love with Audra, a woman who performs abortions for a living, played by a woman who performs musical abortions for a living: Alanis Morissette.”

Meanwhile on the non-gangster side of the Botwin family, Andy has fallen in love with Audra, a woman who performs abortions for a living, tellingly played by a woman who performs musical abortions for a living: Alanis Morissette.  They’ve just got engaged –  it’s good to see Andy happy.  It’s less good to see him sprint for the hills when an anti-abortion nut confronts them with a crossbow in the living room.  And he was just telling Nancy, in response to her claim that men are weak, that he was “steel”.  Isn’t that ironic, Alanis?  Don’t you think?

Also ironic is the revelation that Esteban’s daughter Adelita is a smackhead. Esteban was so dismissive about Silas’s chances with her! Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it, Mr Mayor.  It seems like drug traffickers don’t make the best parents after all.  This will come as no surprise to Isabelle Hodes as her useless mother steps up her involvement in the drug game putting together her own crew comprising Isabelle, Dean, Doug, Sanjay and Ignacio.  Just like Nancy at the end of season 1 – it’ll be interesting to see where this one leads us.

“Love and marriage moved Nancy out of mortal danger then right back into it. Nancy and mortal danger go together like a horse and carriage but once they got her family involved that shit was always going to blow up like the Godfather.”

Season 5 has been cool.  Love and marriage moved Nancy out of mortal danger then right back into it.  Nancy and mortal danger go together like a horse and carriage but once they got her family involved that shit was always going to blow up like the Godfather. Shane caught a bullet.  Somebody had to die. They’ve really gone to town recently developing Shane’s character.  He’s a mom wanking, Goth fucking, Chlamydia catching, shooting surviving, Mexicunt murdering RECORD BREAKER.  Good for him.

The best thing about it: Shane Botwin

The worst thing about it: Alanis, baby killer

The verdict on Weeds Season 5 Finale:: I am not yet bored.
